The Jealousy of God

Published by

The Lord is jealous. But why?

One reason is because there is such a small number of those who consecrate themselves to Him without any reservation. They are so few. He does not allow for a rival. Therefore, He takes little delight in divided souls. Those who are entirely devoted to Him, He loves; and He regards them as His own peculiar property. He exercises all His rights over them. (He does this without interfering with their freedom of will. After all, their abandonment is open and is hearty and is perfectly voluntary.) Nonetheless, He has a jealousy for this kind of believer. He cannot abide the flaws that are in them. They are His choice, and are locked up in the inmost part of His heart. There is another curiosity here too. He does not allow them to be seen by the curious gaze of an unappreciative world. They are mostly hidden ones.

Extracted from Final Steps in Christian Maturity. . .a portion of her voluminous work entitled “Justifications.”

Yes, Father is not allowing his own to be seen by just anyone! Not even among christains, but a few elect, that’s all.

    Dear Colleen,

This is one of my favorite writings; it so touches a chord in my heart. I rather sense that it is those “hidden ones” who will be drawn to this web site. Remember that we are all connected in His Spirit though separated at this time for His dealings and so that we have the time for intimate communion with HIM!! You might enjoy “RELEASED”…a poem at the end of the most recent blog entitled “A Christmas Morning.” It so reminds me of your comment and gives us all hope for the days just on the horizon. Thank you for responding.

May the LORD wrap you in His Wings…Sincerely,
