Stewardship

Published by under Spiritual

We have enjoyed an especially lovely summer here in Central Oregon resting sweetly in the shadow of the great Cascade Mountain Range. There are three prominent mountains over the city which are called the Sisters. Their names? Faith, Hope, and Charity! Thus I know that our
founders were Christian. There actually is a spirit of LOVE and service to others here, and few human needs are unmet. Both secular and spiritual groups pitch in to CARE for this spectacular community. I equate caring with stewardship. When we take great CARE of something, we are stewarding what God has given us.

I have personally been infused with an accelerated passion for taking care of my SELF (health-wise), my home (cleaning, organizing, and minimal redecorating,) and tending my lovely perennial garden and potted plants on my two covered porches. It has all been relaxing and JOY-FULL. I have cleaned lamps, little bowls left untended, ficus and other plant leaves, mirrors, pictures, file cabinets, and those miserable cupboards under the bathroom sinks that seem to collect everything! Thus, I am caring for or stewarding my property – my home. Although it is indeed dedicated to Father and His work, I believe He has entrusted its CARE to me.

The same can be said for my body – the home or temple of the Holy Spirit. I study nutrition and have listened to much regarding the poor quality of our produce, meat, fish, and poultry. Some time ago I gradually began switching to all organic foods which actually taste better and cost little more. A free range chicken thigh tastes like a juicy breast! We are the only nation in the world that feeds our cattle dead animals! I listened to a talk by a former cattle rancher who said
that he would NEVER eat our beef, our hormone stuffed poultry, nor our mercury-filled fish!

Then the Holy Spirit convicted me of my excessive dependence on the microwave. I went online and found that they raise LDL’s (the bad fats), lower HDL’s (the good fats), and lower hemoglobin. In short, the microwave gets into our food and alters our BLOOD ~ source of LIFE.
They also increase cancer risk especially to the digestive tract. So I researched convection ovens and was prompted to replace my microwave oven with one of these and a “hot pot” in which to
boil water for tea. I drink a lot of green tea as it is a powerful antioxidant, and I take a full spectrum of supplements some of which can be purchased for a fraction of the retail price through Swanson’s. (1-800-437-4148.) They also have people available there to counsel you. That number is 1-800-451-9304. Thus, I have been stewarding my health which has included increased walking and other exercise.

In getting my house on order, I trust it is all a type and shadow of what the Holy Spirit is doing within me! I want it swept CLEAN with everything in His right order. As I was reading from my friend’s excellent book on rape ( “Beyond Our Control – Rape” by Leila Rae Sommerfeld), I came to a quote: “Forgiving is agreeing to live with the consequences of someone else’s sin.” Ouch. Instantly I thought of four or even five souls who had sinned against me! Had I truly released forgiveness at the deepest level? Probably not. I was not praying for the lady in Boulder,Colorado who placed a curse on me. (Please see my blog “My Journey into the New Age Movement”). I was not praying for two men who had threatened my life years ago. They were simply shadows in my past that had to be brought to the LIGHT of GOD! So, I’m working on
that!

Stewardship of our soul can probably be summed up by the scripture that says to take everything captive to the obedience of Christ . .”[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and
reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knoledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah,
the Anointed one).” II Corinthians 10:5 Yet we have some little unsanctified parts of our soul remaining which need nourishment. The LORD told me long ago that a healthy, healed soul is more easily made Christ-like. I call these types of nourishment “soul warmers.” What are these? Well, they would differ for each one of us but include things like playing with your children or grandchildren, kissing your spouse, hugging a friend, throwing a stick or a frisbee for your dog, planting a garden, making crafts, enjoying a shower, bubble bath, or hot tub, taking a walk in a lovely place, watching birds and all of God’s creatures, sharing a cup of tea. These are all soul warmers and are an important step in stewarding our soul for its ultimate salvation…the complete
salvation of spirit, soul, and body.

All of these lead to the stewardship of the anointing (Presence of God) that we carry within. I am continually led to the Parable of the Ten Virgins, and I believe that we must preserve our extra oil or the anointing which will be used to call creation home. Seeking God and communing with Him strengthens our innerMan. Norene Nichols has written a wonderful publication entitled “The Generation of the Vine.” (If you would like a copy, please contact me.) I wish to quote
from her here as it fits in so beautifully with this article:

“Another mark of the character of that generation is diligence of search. ‘This is the generation of them that seek Him, that seek Thy face, O Jacob. Selah.’. Psalms 24:6 This generation with
whom YeHoshua is going to share and commune the very life stream is the generation that has an insatiable desire for Him.’ Paul well represents them in His heart cry of ‘that I might know Him.’
Nothing is as important to them as pressing through every veil that hangs between and coming into His very presence. This people is not seeking gifts, and ministries, power and authority,
position and honor. One thing is paramount, and that is to see Him. How aptly this even describes the appearing of YeHoshua, for they who seek His face shall see His face.’”

As I was writing “Solitary Rider,” I sought the LORD’S face continually and felt heartbroken if I were unable to make that blessed contact. The poem which flowed through me that best expresses that is:

“Exploring the Christ”

I explore the Christ…
much as a mother looks over her infant…
I examine Him to know
intimately
each part…
all mysteries in Him

Or as a child
begins to move about her world
all fresh and new…
and it instills a wonder
and a joy in finding
the more she learns
the more doors she finds unopened

So I seek to know the Christ…
deeply…intimately
each thought and Word
the ways of Him Whom I love
tenderly
passionately

The Word made flesh
to live and die for me…
my JESUS… the Christ
knows me as I long to know Him
every hair and thought and breath…
each tear shed…

knowing

As I allow my spirit to be released
into the Christ…
exploring the various parts of Him…
Heart Mind Senses
Hands and Feet…
I see

The Beauty of Christ’s Body

And I discovered
there are no boundaries
His Sacred Heart and Mind filling all
as Feet walk earth and lovely Hands
serve the poor and needy ones…
So I enter into Him fully,
as His Lordship and Spirit direct me…
laboring
commission after commission
in humble submission to the Call

O what joy
taking dominion over all until
the very mountains move
and great seas part in response
to our Anointed Word!

Yes. . .

I embrace sweet FREEDOM
and glorious POWER abiding here
in the Christ. . .

“And he raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together
[giving us JOINT SEATING with Him] in the heavenly sphere
[by virtue of our being] in Christ JESUS
(the Messiah, the Anointed One)…”
